Cheryl Tucker, LGPC, NCC
Practicing Since 2020
Cheryl believes that the foundation to building a rapport and strengthening the therapeutic relationship with a client is through empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. One of the treatment modalities that she likes to use to engage clients is the Person-Centered approach, where the focus is on the uniqueness of the individual. This approach allows clients the space to open up to examine the anatomy of their emotions, and deal with any unfinished business so that they become more self-aware.
It is her hope that in working with her, clients will learn to appreciate how past experiences can impact current thoughts and behaviors. Cheryl wants to help clients make peace with the past, eliminate irrational self-talk, and re-shape their view of the self. She believes the therapeutic process is a journey to discover the unique creature God designed – You. She encourages all to take the plunge: You are well worth it!
Cheryl has been married for 40 years and is the proud mom of two adult sons. As a self-proclaimed “Beach Belle” she relishes moments vacationing on the beach. She enjoys spending time in aqua aerobics at the pool several times a week all year round.
Cheryl is under the clinical supervision of Jessica Ives, LCPC #LC2578.
