Todd Twining, LGPC
Practicing Since: 2023
Todd is dedicated to providing a welcoming and empathetic environment in therapy, ensuring that each client feels safe to express their experiences. He deeply values the importance of clients feeling that their stories are significant and that they are understood and supported without judgment. Todd is keen on helping clients explore new perspectives and collaboratively develop effective strategies, coping techniques, and skills. His preferred therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
Todd believes that effective mental health care hinges on meaningful collaboration between counselor and client. This partnership facilitates a renewed sense of self for the client, creating a space where they can feel both safe and empowered. His approach allows clients to express emotions, heal, and gain the confidence needed to move forward, which he views as essential aspects of mental health care.
Holding a master’s degree in clinical Mental Health Counseling, Todd’s ultimate passion lies in listening and aiding individuals in finding meaning and purpose in their lives. He brings experience in CBT, enjoys working with clients of all ages, and has a particular interest in neuroscience and trauma.
A musician and educator, Todd discovered during the COVID-19 pandemic that his love for people, music, and education could significantly impact the mental health field.
In his personal time, Todd cherishes moments outdoors with his family and their dog, Red, appreciating nature and engaging in classic board games. Among his hobbies are learning new languages and roasting coffee beans.
Todd is a Licensed Graduate Clinical Counselor, holding license # LGP15398, and is currently under the clinical supervision of Jessica Ives, LCPC (MD License #LC2578).
