Ashton Gordon, LMSW
Practicing since: 2019
Ashton holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies and a Masters in Social Work. She has six years of experience walking alongside individuals, couples, and families on their journeys towards growth and healing. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that everyone is the expert of their own life, and Ashton’s role is to meet each person where they are; providing support and guidance expertly tailored to meet their needs along the way. Each time someone steps into the therapeutic space shared together with Ashton, they will be greeted with curiosity, warmth, openness, and playfulness.
Ashton uses a multimodality approach and adjusts her approach to meet each client’s specific needs. She has experience utilizing Person-Centered therapy, Play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, Internal Family Systems, and is currently working toward certification in PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to further enhance the tools she can offer. When working with children, Ashton places a strong emphasis on the parent-child relationship and the ways in which connection and understanding can create a foundation for growth and healing. Whether someone is healing from trauma, navigating challenges, or simply seeking a space to explore and reflect, Ashton looks forward to meeting them and walking this path together.
Outside of the therapy room, Ashton values the joy of gathering with family and friends and believes in the power of building community. She can be found camping, hiking 14ers, snuggling her dog, crocheting with friends, or tackling home projects with her husband.
Ashton Gordon is licensed as an LMSW in the state of Maryland (#30598) under the clinical supervision of Stephen Osterhout, LCSW-C (#09238).
