Dr. Stacy Mallare, DNP, CRNP-PMH

Practicing Since:2013

Dr. Stacy Mallare is a doctorally-prepared, nationally board-certified family psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner providing medication management and supportive talk therapies to children, adolescents and adults. The conditions she commonly treats include depression and anxiety, as well as obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, trauma disorders including post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), and substance use disorders. The therapeutic modalities she draws from are cognitive behavioral therapy, solutions focused therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Work with Dr. Mallare will be collaborative, where together we will discuss expectations for treatment and create a unique plan of care. You will provide the goals, preferences, and personal insights for treatment, and Dr. Mallare will provide the education, guidance, advocacy, support, and appropriate medications.

Dr. Mallare believes that mental health is deeply connected to physical well-being, and that external factors such as family dynamics and social environments should be considered during treatment. She recognizes that trauma can impact mental health, so Dr. Mallare is determined to create a safe, non-judgmental space for her patients to feel comfortable in being vulnerable with her during treatment. As a patient advocate, Dr. Mallare works to reduce stigma around mental health issues and promotes an understanding that mental health conditions are medical in nature and not moral failings. She integrates evidence-based practice by staying informed of the latest research and applies it to her current medication management practice. And to ensure a well-rounded approach to care, she works closely with other healthcare professionals as well, including primary care providers, therapists and social workers.

Having achieved a wide range of personal, educational, and professional accomplishments and excelling academically in her Doctor of Nursing Practice program while simultaneously completing my Nurse Practitioner training, Dr. Mallare has developed several quality improvement programs aimed at translating research into practice. This includes initiatives for depression care in cancer patients, reducing falls on an inpatient psychiatric unit, and enhancing safe prescribing practices through better collaboration among interdisciplinary providers. Her contributions have been recognized in healthcare settings, particularly for outstanding service on adult psychiatric units. And additionally, she has led behavioral health emergency response teams and holds a buprenorphine prescribing license.

Born and raised in Maryland, in her spare time, Dr. Mallare enjoys engaging in all types of outdoor activities, particularly hiking and running. She also practices yoga and pilates and does cross stitching and other crafts. She currently has 1 pet cat but is also a dog lover. Dr. Mallare also likes to spend time reading, cooking, watching comedy movies, and spending time with friends and family.
