Patricia Martinez, MSW, Supervisee in Clinical Social Work
Practicing Since: 2009
Patricia seeks to build authentic relationships with clients by providing a safe and trusting environment. She utilizes a holistic approach to healing that acknowledges a person’s life experiences. She strives to make clients feel comfortable and safe so that they can be honest and vulnerable while processing some of their most sensitive and personal topics. She strives to create a relationship of flexibility, understanding, and patience.
Patricia believes that mental health can have large consequences on our overall health and affects our bodies, mindset, how we relate to others, and our overall quality of life. She also believes that the therapeutic process does not work unless the client is ready to be present and active in their own healing as it is necessary for the therapist to meet them there. She will meet the client where they are without judgment and foster opportunities for secure and deep connections throughout the process.
Patricia has a daughter and loves animals, especially cats. She is an advocate for marginalized and oppressed communities. She enjoys traveling, walking, attending concerts, spending time with friends, trying new restaurants, and reading.
Patricia practices in the state of Virginia (license # 0906012866) and is under the clinical supervision of Mary Dolby-McDonald (VA license # 0904003530).
