Pietro Moore, MSW
Practicing Since: 2016
Pietro believes that the foundation of growth is linked to a connection to oneself and others. He works to create an environment where clients feel comfortable and support discussing thoughts, feelings, and beliefs which have been historically challenging to talk about. Pietro meets clients where they are at and work from a present focus to address challenges, tap into strengths, and foster growth on their personal journey.
Pietro has the belief that everyone has the capacity to live their best life within them. Many factors impact, promote, and disrupt this place of equanimity and he will work to explore, cultivate, and address these factors alongside clients. Creating an internal refuge that one can return to and abide in throughout life’s successes and difficulties is the core of his counseling philosophy.
Pietro has been a resident of Northern Virginia for most of his life and received his dual master degree of Social Work and Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. He has been married to his wife for 6 years whom he is happy to share life’s journey with. Pietro values his time with family and friends. He enjoys spending his free time with them, especially having a home cooked meal or playing board games. When he is not spending time with loved ones, he enjoys solitude whether that is attending a retreat, playing video games, or reading a good book.
Pietro has a dual Master of Social Work and Conflict Analysis and Resolution from George Mason University. He is a certified peer recovery specialist trainer. He is also a wellness recovery action plan facilitator, dialectal behavior therapy facilitator, whole health action management facilitator, and certified peer recovery specialist.
