What Clients Can Expect: Congratulations on taking the first step in dealing with the issue(s) that may be affecting you. This is the first step in getting the necessary coping strategies needed for you to continue to move forward. Curtis believes that all things have a beginning and an end. Everything in the middle of those two points is the walk that we must make in order to have a successful end and accomplish the goals that we set out to achieve. Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other integrative treatments, Curtis with work together with you to meet your goals.

 

About: Curtis has clinical experience working with individuals ranging in age from 11 to 60 and in many different areas such as anxiety, depression, work or home challenges, developing and maintaining social and interpersonal relationships, PTSD, physical abuse, emotional abuse, sexual abuse just to name a few. About: Jim has a strong interest in Mindfulness Based Interventions and compassion training. He is a qualified teacher of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with the Center for Mindfulness at The University of California at San Diego Medical School. Jim also has interests in performance training with mindfulness, compassion, and resilience for athletes, first responders, and those with high stress occupations, including military veterans.

 

Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, Jim worked as a teacher in special education at the Kennedy Krieger Institute working with children with Autism and served as an English teacher in Bangladesh as a Peace Corps Volunteer. About: Amanda graduated from Towson University in 2007 with a B.S. in Psychology and she obtained her M.S. in Applied Psychology from The University of Baltimore in 2010. Amanda went on to work at Key Point Health Services Outpatient Clinic and School-Based Program, private practice, and Bay Life Services School-Based Program. Throughout her career she has worked with a variety of mental health diagnoses and has offered crisis intervention and case management services. This will include a thorough medical and psychiatric history. You may certainly ask questions yourself throughout the interview. Education is a very important part of her approach and Susan will try to help you understand the neurobiology of your condition to the psychosocial aspects of how this affects you. Susan understands that talking to someone you have never met takes a lot of courage and is difficult. Her expertise includes a sensitivity to difficult issues and the need for making sure that the level of intensity is not so high during your appointment that it causes distress.

She was selected for the National Health Service Corps scholarship prior to attending Johns Hopkins University for her Family Nurse Practitioner degree. Susan works with individuals of all ages.
